Research & Development at GFC
At GFC (Global Furniture Components), UAB, we specialize in developing and supplying functional components for upholstery furniture. Since our founding in 2015 in Siauliai, Lithuania, we have grown from a sourcing & distribution company into a business that designs, engineers, and manufactures customized and proprietary products.
From Market Needs to Tailored Solutions
Our experience in the global furniture industry has shown that standard components do not always meet specific requirements of our customers. Initially, we worked as a bridge between our clients and manufacturing partners facilitating product modifications based on customer needs.
Over time, we recognized the need for custom-engineered products and complete control over design and engineering process. This led to a dedicated approach to research and development, allowing us to provide more precise solutions for our clients.
Our R&D Process
In 2024, we established our own R&D department in Siauliai, Lithuania, equipping us with the ability to develop and test new components in-house. We also opened GFC Asia, our company office in Changsha, China, enabling us to closely control the manufacturing and quality of our products.
Our Process Includes
- Concept & Design – We work closely with customers to understand their needs and develop customized solutions.
- 3D Engineering & Prototyping – Using SolidWorks, laser cutting and 3D printing, we create and refine prototypes before production.
- Testing & Validation – We conduct internal testing to assess performance and durability.
- Production & Implementation – Once validated, products are integrated into manufacturing with our OEM partners.
