Bracket “C” (left & right) is used to attach a wood backrest to the 692 series.

Its main benefit is to increase the depth of the seat by moving the backrest.

It is also used to extend the general depth of the sofa when converting 692 standard mechanism to H13 high leg version. In such case depth of the sofa must be sufficient to provide enough clearance when closing the mechanism with the newly extended front leg.
